Chantry Woods 🌳
This morning we visited Chantry Woods (Chantry Lane, Hatfield). We were so excited as Grace told us there might be fairies inside!
We were very careful on our way into the woods as the plants were very overgrown. We kept an eye out for stinging nettles and sharp leaves, holding our arms above our heads if we thought a plant could hurt us.
We all managed to walk down the steep hill very well, it was tough to keep our balance! There were lots of pretty flower, we checked they were safe and explored. Zara loved picking the flowers and offering them to her friends!
We decided to use sticks to build a house in a big tree - some of us made home for badgers while others were drilling holes for bees.
We suddenly decided that there were ‘bad guys’ in the woods and we needed to find our way out! We rushed to find the gate through the woods.
We came out of a different gate so we thought the bad guys had stolen the car! Luckily there was a map on the lamp post and we found the car safe and sound. We quickly got home to make sure our lunch was safe!
